On the 29th of September, Kantify hosted its first webinar titled Artificial Intelligence for Drug Discovery and Development as a part of the European Biotechnology Week 2021.

We explained the concept of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, described how AI is enhancing drug discovery, and presented our expertise in the field including our solution for in-silico drug discovery ZeptoNet. Additionally, we provided some practical applications of AI throughout the whole drug discovery pipeline, from disease target discovery to clinical validation, and supplied the audience with tips on how to use AI to push the boundaries of their therapeutic research and development.

The presentation followed an open discussion around the process of data collection and data protection which were raised by the audience. Kantify’s CEO Segolene and Lead Machine Learning Engineer Nicolas, explained the different types of data which can be used by AI drug discovery algorithms and added that there are techniques for cleaning, augmenting, and preparing data to extract as much meaningful information as possible. Furthermore, they highlighted the point of data protection, IP, and AI explainability which Kantify prioritizes whilst building and serving AI software solutions.
